Cake Stand Ideas

So I've already shown you the cake but I forgot to talk about the cake stand! I want to have the main cake not be extremely big because at my baby shower there was a ton wasted and they're expensive! SO, I've decided to have my cake (the one I showed you before just a smaller version of it) and also have a cupcake tower with mushroom cupcakes like these but in our colors
And I want to display them like this next to the main cake!

Also, the main cake will be on a tree stump stand as well like the one below!

Ring Bearer

So Logan is going to be our ring bearer, how cute I know! Gabby will be walking him down the aisle so his pillow might end up being carried by her so we'll see LOL Here are some CUTE ideas!

I like this one because of the pop of orange to match our colors!

This one might be my favorite if you can't tell by all of the multiple pics of it! I love how unique it is with the burlap and the pinecone roses!

I like the look of this one but it might be too heavy for Logan to carry!

I like the wheat on this one but not so much the white burlap, it'd be better if it was brown.

Flower Girl Basket Ideas

OMG LOVE THESE!!! I swear...I'm falling more in love with this wedding every day LOL!

Possible Wedding Hairstyles

I came across these today and can't decide which look I like best....any ideas? I know my hair will be long and that I want it curled and down but other than that I'm not sure yet...

Guestbook Idea

I love the idea of this...A large poster with this tree on it and then everyone that attends puts their thumb/finger print as a leaf on a the tree and signs under it!

Invitations

I LOVE THESE...Don't know why lol, they're kind of plain but for some reason I think they're "the ones"!

Party Favor

Such a cute idea for a party favor!

and this too! Cute little birch magnets with our initials and wedding date!

Decoration Ideas So Far

So like I said we're going to be using mostly natural, simplistic decorations that fit our wedding theme. I like the idea of using things like wheat, dark satin ribbon, twine, vintage laterns, pinecones, mason jars, ivy, lighted trees, etc to give this kind of ambiance. Also, I have to make sure there is adequate lighting since the wedding will be taking place at 8pm outside... here are some ideas so far

How weird is it that the date engraved is our wedding date?! Is it a sign?...Maybe ;-) I would be mason jars with wheat and rocks on top instead of what is pictured though!
Like this..

wouldn't these be beautiful!! Found them on ETSY!

Bridesmaid Dresses

So I randomly found this picture in Google images and LOVE it...I want to the exact basic bouquets for the bridesmaids and I want to find dresses as close to this as possible! I mean, how perfect...the pic incorporates all 3 of my wedding colors! It was meant to be...,

The Flowers

I don't know very much about flowers as Shane is more the gardener in this family, but I DO know that I love the look of this bouquet. Now, I don't neccessarily want these exact flowers, more so the look. I like the flowy filler type stuff on the outside (anyone know what that's called?) , and I know I'm going to have some wheat stocks as filler in my bouquet because wheat is going to be a central focus for our decorations and theme. I like the orange flowers in this as well, but again I don't know what they're called. I know I want to have some orange lilies (tiger I believe), orange roses, wheat, this flowy stuff, and maybe some deep burgandy/red flowers in the mix as well...any ideas?

Color Scheme

So these are the colors I'm going to working with for our theme...
But I'm going to switch out the yellow/goldish color with the green so the three primary colors of the wedding will be Chocolate Brown, Rusty/Dark Orange, and Forest Green. The two accent colors will be the deep red and the goldish yellow.

The Cake Topper

What goes better with a mystical, woodsy, earthy theme than a fairy cake topper! I love that both of the characters actually resemble Shane and I....not identically of course, but you get what I mean. Also, again, she's wearing green and that's one of my colors!

My Dress

So, after Shane proposed (February 15th, 2010) the first thing I was in search of was the dress I'd be wearing on my big day! Now at first I was considering a poofy, all-out, princess type dress such as this...

But then after further consideration I decided something like that might be too expensive and too elaborate. I'm going for a more simple, elegant, but still natural-esque look...If that makes sense, lol. Well, after many hours of searching I found what I believe to be the perfect one!

The Cake

The Cake!

Okay, so is this cake not AMAZING?! We're going with an earthy, woodsy, natural, mystical type wedding. Imagine the scenery of "The Lord of The Rings"...NOT the people, only the scenery LOL! Don't worry, there won't be any elf ears or hobbits in the wedding party! Anyway, I came across this cake and thought it fit our theme great! It's simple, elegant, and natural all at the same time! Plus, one of my wedding colors is green, so how perfect is that?!

Our Adventure Begins

So, as our wedding fastly approaches my mind is filled with millions of ideas and my mental to-do list seems to be over a mile long. In an attempt to better organize and filter through my thoughts I decided to create this blog as a reference point to keep track of all of this madness. Plus, it'll be fun to keep those in the wedding party and those attending up to date with my plans and ideas. Also, feel free to put forth any ideas or advice you all have for me!
